Congrats to team rider, Todd K. who won the “Best Trick” competition at Skatefest, a skateboarding event that took place today at Spalding Skatepark in Champaign, Il. The event was hosted by the Board Boutique skate shop and Kolor Skateboards. There were a bunch of best trick events on different obstacles around the park. Todd won the loading dock best trick contest. He hardflipped the loading dock and took first place! He won a sweet Board Boutique t-shirt and the coveted Skatefest Golden Hammer trophy.

I really like this choker/necklace because it is so simple and yet it still has a strong, masculine vibe about it.  It was inspired by team rider Jonny who is from Northern Ireland.  The choker/necklace is handcrafted and threaded using various shades of deep & light brown wooden beads, ocean green chips of semi-precious stones and centered by a rich yet subtle wooden cross.  This lightweight piece can be worn casually or it can beef up your evening outfit for a sweet night on the town or at the club.  Now, the reason I keep calling it a choker/necklace is because it just borders both sides of this world.  It is about 20″ in length (end bead to end bead) and hangs just slightly lower than a choker would (on an average size neck) but not really as long as a standard necklace might.  In either case, I suspect you’d be happy with it regardless.

I really like websites that give me the option of listening to a little music when I am visiting and browsing around. So, I decided to do the same for our site. At first, I took the easy route and just added a small player on the main page that had two song choices and then had a completely separate page that had a full player on it. This was fine as long as you stayed on either of the two pages or left both pages up and continued browsing or shopping in completely separate windows. In the long run, this was not what I wanted. So with a little advice from a friend and with the help of team rider, Matthew, who is a bit of a website whiz, we were able to finally add the Royal Radio to the site. When you get to the main page, simply clicking the Radio link at the top of the page will launch the Royal Radio in a tiny window of its own giving you the ability to continue doing what you’re doing while allowing the music to continue to play in the background. I am stoked. Thanks to Jay for the info and to Matthew for putting all the code together, tweaking it and making it work. So to you, enjoy the music. I will try and update the selections each month and if I have some time, maybe even more often than that.

So, if you’ve seen some of our tees and you’re still around here, my guess is you like one or two of them.  And thats cool.  Very cool.  Heres something else that may not only keep you hangin’ around a bit, but may get you to come back often.  Urban Royal Tees has made a change, and that change is this: All of our tees from this point will all be limited editions and/or exclusive short runs.  This means, each tee will have a certain number attached to it and that number will represent how many tees of that design will be made.  Some times there will be a 200 cap, sometimes a 300 cap, sometimes a 500 cap and then, sometimes (hee hee) there will be a 20 to 50 “web only” cap!  It doesn’t get much more limited and exclusive than that, right?  Yeah, right… Exactly.
